Artur was raised in a Mariupol (Donetsk region) orphanage. The couple who adopted him had come to Ukraine previously for humanitarian and missionary work. They found their son Artur, as well as many Christian friends who gave a lot of support through out their adoption.

See their adoption story at http://hometown.aol.com/trcfill/myhomepage/index.html and also some tips on how to get ready for Ukraine adoption displayed in the transcript of their interview.

Caleb (18 months) and Roxanna (3 years) are not birth related children. They were both raised in the same Khmelnitsky orphanage.  They both became children of one Christian family from Louisiana.  The Adoption Center had referred this couple to another boy. But as soon as they arrived to Khmelnitsky, they realized that God had a different plan for their adoption...

See more of their adoption story in the transcript of this couple's interview.

Zach is a "little boss" - when he bumps into something he rarely cries, he just keeps going. His personality is quite different from Adam's.  This was one of the reasons that  the family who had adopted Adam before, now chose Zach (18 months) from a Lviv orphanage.

See his adoption story and orphanage pictures at http://members.aol.com/pupchek

The couple who adopted this little boy came from Virginia. They impressed us with their kind and genuine spirit. The couple traveled to Lviv to adopt Benjamin. They got through their adoption just in time before the Y2K closings at the US Embassy.  They happily arrived in the US where a local TV crew met the three of them at the Norfolk airport. So Benjamin had an immediate following on this side of the ocean!

Anna came from a Donetsk orphanage. She has big eyes and a cutie smile that attracted one couple from Virginia.  There was a huge snowfall when the couple left Kyiv to Donetsk. The train ride took 22 hours because of this. They arrived at night and the next morning they met Anna.  The couple came back with their new daughter before Christmas, and Anna has been a great blessing for them!

Marina (9 years) is a beautiful girl who has a severe disability with her legs. She is a blond beauty with a generous smile and resolute spirit. Marina was placed in a "level four orphanage" in Ladizhin  (Vinnitsa region).  She was brought to the attention of a missionary providing humanitarian aid throughout Ukraine. The nurses at Ladizhin begged for Marina's help. Thanks to a Virginia couple that came to Ladizhin to adopt her, Marina is now in the US having surgery that will hopefully enable her to walk and enjoy outdoor games with the other children!

Ethan and Thad were placed in a Kharkiv orphanage. Although they are  very different, Ethan and Thad became sons of one couple from Pennsylvania. Their adoption was also completed to have the children home before Christmas and the Y2K Embassy closings.

"...The boys are doing great. They are happy all day. Thad's first English word was "EAT!" and eat he does. He loves food. At mealtime he drags his highchair to the refrigerator or he lays down on the floor if I'm cooking at the stove. Ethan is picking up new words every day..."

Julia was adopted from Nikopol, Dnepropetrovsk region by a couple from New Jersey. Here is what they  wrote after their adoption was completed:

"...We found everyone in your office to be very kind and extremely helpful. It was just a great experience, to adopt a child, and to really live with the Ukrainian people in the process. I've always felt that to really know a country, you have to live and eat with the real people, not in the Hyatt (although an occasional McDonald's was necessary!)".
